30 Days with Jesus: Day 28

Trading Jesus

Scripture - Mark 15:6-15

Let's go on a little stretch today and say in today's passage that...
  • The multitude/crowd represents your flesh (vs. 8, 11)
  • The chief priest represents your adversary/temptation (v. 11)
  • Barabbas represents sin (v. 7)
  • ...and Pilate represents YOU!
Now, take a moment and read today's passage again.

Are you going to let your flesh, temptation or your adversary to dictate your life and trade Jesus in for sin? Don't gratify your flesh (v. 15). Choose Jesus instead!

I can only speak for myself when I say I've traded Jesus in for sin many times and the consequences of sin we're never worth it and I eventually learned that choosing Christ has and will always be the better choice.

Journal
  • Let today's Scripture and message really sink in. Write how you feel.
  • Spend time repenting for trading Jesus for sin and ask Him for grace to choose Him going forward.
There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it. -1 Corinthians 10:13
